The start is in Tux-Lanersbach, at an altitude of 1,300 m, at the Hinterangerbrücke, directly opposite the Sporthotel Kirchler, house no. 453. First you follow the asphalt access road for a while. At the first bend on the right, keep going into the valley. From house no.509, take the forest road uphill. Follow this path until the view becomes clear and the Junsberg, Madseitberg and Grübelspitze greet you from the other side. The first stage destination, the Höllensteinhütte, has been reached. After the mountain inn, a gravel path leads through the Tapental to the Grieralm. At the crossroads keep right uphill. From the Grieralm you follow the same route downhill via Juns - Klausboden back to Lanersbach.
