Summit hike Peter Habeler (Edelhütte)

Route length: 2,7km

Start your trip from the Edelhütte (2238m). From here walk up the well-marked path to a plateau (2400m). Now you have to walk up a very steep passage with many curves. The trail is well-marked on stones or on wood sticks with red points. On a high of 2650m the path leads you the right side over boulders to the Popbergschneide (2700m) – it is an edge on the mountain. Now the difficult part begins! Don’t worry about the many ascents – just follow the marked red points. Over big, stony tiling you reach the south summit of the Ahornspitze (2973m). If you want to get to the main peak, just take some steps up. The most difficult part here is secured with a rope. Now there are just a few meters up to the peak.
The peak with its 2973m imposes with the magnificent view over the surroundings.
Be careful while going up because rockfallings are possible.
